Rosie Live Is Dead

 Rosie

Rosie O'Donnell got both lousy reviews and disappointing ratings for her new NBC variety show, Rosie Live, and now Rosie says there will be no more live variety shows.

Rosie Live was billed as Rosie's return to TV after her The View departure, but the show - which featured appearances by Alanis Morissette, Alec Baldwin, Clay Aiken, Ne-Yo and Liza Minnelli - was watched by only about 5 million.

The reviews weren't any better and the Hollywood Reporter wrote: "There's nothing like a good holiday variety show and this was nothing like one."

Rosie O'Donnell writes on her blog:

there will b no more

no ratings
bad reviews

yet still - a thrill 4 me

On why the show tanked, Rosie writes:

well -
i was going for a rich
- theater like look

but many have said it was too dark
i get it

--

not enough rehearsal
the live part wasnt a plus
the in theater experience didnt transfer to tv

--

we were going for ed sullivan
and theres only one carol b
and hey
i gave it my best shot
