| Did Jodie Foster Come Out? |
Hollywood is abuzz with whether or not Jodie Foster has come out of the closet after she thanked her "beautiful Cydney" during her acceptance speak when receiving the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award Tuesday. In her speak, Foster thanked "my beautiful Cydney who sticks with me through all the rotten and the bliss." Cydney is presumed to be Cydney Bernard, the woman who is widely reported to be her life partner. The two-time Oscar winner was funny and heart-warming during the speech, which brought some in attendance at the Beverly Hills Hotel to tears, Daily News reports. Foster characterized herself as a "professional" and a "gentleman." But she also said that after working in entertainment for 42 years, "there's no way you can do that and not be as nutty as a fruitcake." "I always feel like something of an impostor. I don't know what I'm doing," she said. "I suppose that's my one little secret, the secret of my success." Foster seems to have been taking small steps towards coming out in recent months. In an interview with More magazine in September the interviewer commented on the Tiffany ring she was wearing, and Foster acknowledged it was an eternity ring that she never takes off, but refused to elaborate further. Later the same month, she used the word "partner" when commenting on her acting career to The Denver Post, saying, "I need to have something that doesn't belong to my mom, doesn't belong to my kids, doesn't belong to my partner." The picture is from Sunday when Jodie, who is the mother of two children, attended the Trevor Project's Cracked Xmas 10 Benefit in support of the hotline which helps young GLBT people in danger of committing suicide.
