National Protest Against Prop 8

 No H8 protest in NYC

Thousands of people in cities around the country will gather for a nationwide protest against the discriminatory gay marriage ban in California this Saturday, Nov. 15th.

Visit Jointheimpact.com to find the protest nearest you, and if you don't see your city listed, round up a few friends to serve as organizers, and ask the group to add it to the list.

Join the protest, but remember: Keep it civil! It's all about civil rights, after all.

When you go out to fight for your rights, keep in mind that there have been thousands of people going before you, and that violence and hate have never helped anyone to the goals we all want.

The Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Spain, South Africa, and Norway have all accomplished marriage equality, and so has the US states of Massachusetts and Connecticut. And all without a shred of violence.

Also, check out this touching comment from MSNBC's Keith Olbermann about of Prop 8: "...to me this vote is horrible. Horrible. Because this isn't about yelling, and this isn't about politics. This is about the human heart, and if that sounds corny, so be it."
