Margaret Cho Equals Palin to 9/11

on 09-16-2008 15:54

 Margaret Cho

Our favorite comedian Margaret Cho is known for being outspoken, to say the least, and this time she's ripping vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin a new one.

"I think [Palin] is the worst thing to happen to America since 9-11," Cho said in a new interview with Washington Blade. "Someone who has no thoughts about women's rights and who wants to send women back to the Stone Age? You might as well not let women vote. I came out of the Democratic convention feeling so proud and excited, but now I fear that our country is so backwards in so many ways and the ignorance that exists is greater than we can even imagine."

Cho singled out Palin in part because the Alaska governor’s church has encouraged discredited reparative therapy techniques to help gay people become straight.

"The reach of homophobia and hatred is so wide, it's disturbing how deep it is," Cho said. "Now with Sarah Palin, who is so anti-gay and advocated camps for them to go to be brainwashed, she is a real sign of something very wrong with this country, a real problem. We are battling homophobia on so many fronts."

1. Cho Is Right About Palin
Sara Palin is a good Christian woman who follows and worships God... HER God. People of the USA need to wake up and realize that it is no longer, “One nation under God” it is “One nation under the Christian God”.

The Christian Churches all claim that they are the only ones that are going to heaven, even if they do hate their neighbors or justify killing people of another faith because of “weapons of mass destruction”. Yes, she will help bring the USA back to the Stone Age but it will be for HER God.

None of it really matters because they can justify it in heaven.

2. I love Magaret Cho...
...but politically she sounds like a 3rd grade idiot. Such hyperbole is what I expect from the extreme right. Cho said she was excited when she left the Democratic convention, obviously referring to Mr. Socialist former "community organizer" and all around collectivist loving Obama. As a gay man I find Barack hot and attractive. As a politician he's just another one of those race baiting, entitlement loving, income redistributionist collective tin horn wanna be dictators. I hate when people blindly follow a political idea no matter how plainly history shows them to be wrong as hell. geez

3. wide brushes miss the details...
I think there are plenty of Christians in this country that do not believe or think like Sarah Palin. There are plenty who do, but those who don't just aren't controversial enough to get media attention that tend to focus on hate mongers and bigots. And if there's one thing I do know about Obama is that he is no ideologue. He may lean to the left but unlike many politicians, he does listen and think about issues before he makes up his mind. I've followed him before the US Senate campaign. As expected, he's from Chicago so he's got to play some of the game, given that, he's thoughtful and real.

4. Think before you speak
Single-issue voters (or commentators) disserve everyone when ranting like this. Who is Cho to ascribe her vague and judgmental understanding of a small church to each parishioner, and then to a national policy? Would she ever say Obama "whishes he had done more" than just bomb the capitol and kill police officers, and agrees "God Damn America?" Would she call B.O a corrupt politician or back-room mafioso? An organizer for faudulent voters? If Palin's church makes her a homophobe, what of Obama's associates? Or Biden's plagerism?
Stick to comedy, Cho. Rosie embarrasses us enough.
:sigh
