| Ellen and Portia Married |
Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres married her long-time girlfriend Portia de Rossi Saturday in an intimate ceremony attended by just 19 guests at their $33.5 million Beverley Hills home. "Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were married tonight in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles," their spokesperson told People magazine. The guests witnessed the couple exchange handwritten vows, both dressed in oufits by US designer Zac Ponsen. DeGeneres, 50, wore an all white suit in her characteristic masculine style, while de Rossi, 35, wore a pale pink gown. Surrounded by beautiful flower arrangements by L.A. florist Mark's Garden the lesbian power couple exchanged rings by Neil Lane. "Ellen and Portia came out and posed for pictures with Ellen's mom and their two dogs," a witness tells Usmagazine.com. "They were hugging and kissing, and looked ecstatic," the onlooker adds. "Ellen was helping Portia with the train of her dress, which looked like a Cinderella tutu." The pair, who "were both laughing," walked "all over the lawn together holding hands and posing," the witness tells Us. "The whole afternoon seemed light-hearted." DeGeneres announced their plans to marry on her chat show in May after California's Supreme Court ruled a previous ban on gay marriage to be unconstitutional. She said: "It's something that we've wanted to do and we want it to be legal and we are very, very excited." The following month de Rossi showed off a 3-carat diamond ring set on a pink pavé band DeGeneres presented to her for their upcoming nuptials when the pair attended the Daytime Emmy Awards together.
