Cali's Anti-Gay Ballot Text Stays

on 08-12-2008 15:51

California pride

California anti-gay activists did not succeed in changing the description of Proposition 8 on the November ballot and the original language will stay the same, officials said Monday.

Proposition 8, if passed, would overturn this year's gay marriage win in California and gay marriage opponents claimed the current wording of the bill encourages voters to vote "no" to the proposition.

The title states the measure "eliminates (the) right of same-sex couples to marry," which Proposition 8 supporters argued was one sided. They took the issue to court but after two defeats in court last week, the Yes on 8 campaign said Monday that it would not appeal to the state Supreme Court.

"We intend to leave the final outcome to the voters," said campaign spokeswoman Jennifer Kerns.

1. Marriage for everyone
I hate right-wing Christian lunatics! If California's anti-gay prop 8 fails, I'd like to rub every one of their faces in their failure like mashing their faces in a pile of shit!
