| Ugly Betty - The Musical? |
Semi-out gay TV star Michael Urie, who plays Wilhelmina's flamboyant assistant Marc on "Ugly Betty," told a British radio station that an "Ugly Betty the Musical" might be in the works sometime soon. He said, "They do want to do an "Ugly Betty" musical, a full-on Broadway musical, but it's all hush-hush. I think it would be great, and they should use the cast from the show. I think we would all do it, although we maybe don't dance and sing as well as professional singers and dancers. I think it would be fun for us to do it for a while, and then they could get real people in. They definitely want to do an episode that is a musical one, but then they want to do a full stage show. I think it’s a great idea. It would definitely work." Side Note: Is Urie out or not? In a December 2006 issue of dot glbt news magazine, it was reported that Urie is openly gay, though in an article for USA Today he said that, even though he is single, he did not want to divulge any information on his sexual orientation or his love life: "It's not black and white; I'm still young, still figuring my life out," he says. "I love the mystery. I'm not going to lie, but I'm not going to talk about it." [Wikipedia] Last update: 01-31-2009 19:45
