| Wing Nuts Ain't Loving Gay Friendly McDonald's |
WASHINGTON, DC -- Right wing fundamentalists have found a new target for their religious rage after they discovered that fast-food chain McDonald's has been appointed to the board of directors of The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC). NGLLC, which promotes gay and lesbian business ventures, confirmed in a press release last month that the organization has received an endorsement from the world's biggest fast-food chain and has appointed Richard Ellis, VP of communications for McDonald's, to its board of directors. "We could not be more delighted with the addition of Richard to the Board," said NGLCC co-founder and president Justin Nelson. "Richard brings his extensive experience in communications and public affairs to a dynamic team of leaders." "I'm thrilled to join the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce team and ready to get to work," said Ellis. "I share the NGLCC's passion for business growth and development within the LGBT community and I look forward to playing a role in moving these important initiatives forward." "Richard's vast Board experience with LGBT and advocacy related organizations make him an excellent addition to the board," said NGLCC co-founder and CEO Chance Mitchell. "Richard is going to be a terrific director and we look forward to working with him towards great things." "McDonald's restaurant's, famed for the Golden Arches, Ronald McDonald and kids meals, has signed onto a nationwide effort to promote "gay" and "lesbian" business ventures," hate web site WorldNetDaily writes. No word yet if any religious groups are planning to boycott McDonald's for their endorsement. Last update: 04-01-2008 16:04
