Not surprisingly, "fierce" 21-year-old contestant Christian Siriano was crowned winner of "Project Runway" Wednesday night on Bravo's most-watched series ever. Siriano was named the show's "fan favorite," which netted him $10,000 in addition to the grand prize. He was also clearly the darling of the judges for most of Season 4. One of the judges, Elle fashion director Nina Garcia, says she sees a great future for Siriano and called him a clear winner. She praised his professionalism on the final show: "He's not going to disappoint. He's got the energy, he's got the stamina." Victoria Beckham also saluted his collection: "It was a breath of fresh air." As a teenager, Siriano worked at the Bubbles hair salon in the Annapolis Mall before going to London to study and learn from designers Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. "I'm the youngest winner of Project Runway ever — it's crazy!" he said to the cameras after his victory. "But hello? Did you have a doubt? Come on. What up." Siriano was awarded $100,000 to start his own line, as well as a new car and a magazine spread. Last update: 03-06-2008 15:33
