| Britain Cracks Down on Bareback Porn |
Three gay porn flicks have been pulled from the shelves in the Great Britain after a BBC Newsnight investigation into the health risks of so-called bareback gay porn - which shows men having unprotected sex. Two of the DVDs featured footage from a week-long shoot during which eight British models had sex without condoms. Four of the participants were later diagnosed as HIV positive. One of the men told BBC he was distressed that footage which he believed showed him becoming infected had been put on sale. In a separate case, British porn producer Rufus Ffoulkes has been arrested on a child pornography charge for putting a 16-year-old boy in a bareback porn movie. Showing unprotected sex became taboo in gay porn after HIV and Aids emerged in the 1980s but there has been a resurgence of such films in the last few years and they now make up about 60% of the gay market. Leading gay porn director Chi Chi Larue has taken a very public stance against bareback films. "After all the gay community has been through why are we putting people at risk for porn," he says in a new advert urging consumers to boycott bareback films. Last update: 03-04-2008 23:21
