Gay Superdelegate Endorses Obama

on 02-22-2008 13:14

21-year-old Jason Rae, who will be the youngest superdelegate at this year's Democratic National Convention, and who also is gay, has decided to endorse Barack Obama.Jason Rae

"The Democratic Party is fortunate to have two very talented individuals running for President this election," said Rae in a statement released by the Obama campaign Thursday. "It is a difficult choice for anyone, but in the end, the choice for me has become clear. I am proudly supporting Senator Barack Obama."

He cited Obama's support from an overwhelming majority of young voters as the major reason for his decision, CNN reports.

The Democratic Party's roughly 800 superdelegates – who can cast their votes for any candidate they choose, regardless of their state's primary or caucus results – have been at the center of a fierce lobbying effort by the campaigns of both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

1. Gay "Super delegate" not so super to me!
"OUR" memories seems to gone astray! What has Barack HUSSEIN Obama done for the ‘Gay Community’ lately? Or EVER? In listening to his rhetoric I have not heard one word about what his position on Gay Life.
At least Hillary and Bill, and MANY of their supporters have ALWAYS been a friend of the Gay Community. OK, “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” did not turn out the way it was designed to work. So! We have beat that horse to death! Goes with my other comments, is it necessary or advisable to “OUT” someone who chooses to not be ‘OUT!” for whatever reason!
Being Gay is a serious challenge, evening ‘The Castro’, ‘West Hollywood’ et al
Gay bashing is rampant in Gay Bastions! Let’s concentrate of getting ‘local’ grassroots leaders who protect us LOCALLY.
Hillary Clinton will be an amazing President from DAY ONE! She already knows the largest majority of the World’s Leaders, so she can have instant dialogue! Hillary will appoint and or support Gays in National Political positions, such as Ambassadorships.
“We” need to stand behind Hillary Clinton! She is by far the most qualified.

2. Agree Concur
I just don't understand the fascination that people have with Obama. It's almost as if many Democrats are child-like and have found themselves a brand new, shiny penny that has them behaving as if they're stereotaxic. After eight years of abject misery, we're finally being afforded the opportunity to elect an individual who's not only at the very top of the intelligence scale but who's also knowledgeable, compassionate, and, more importantly, a known entity. I, for one, believe Obama is duplicitous and talks 'a good stick'. We all better wake up and smarten-up before we do a repeat of Bush

3. You Have to be Kidding
I just don't understand what Everybody sees in Obama. He is a "Public Speaker" and that is ALL he IS. He is like Perot was..somebody to rock the vote and to just Mess up the Election. Hillary is the Obvious choice and is for Gay as Well as the Common Man. Obama has that Nasty Wife of his who will just stir things up in the Wrong Way. The politicians who keep backing Obama seem to think he can do something for them or he has Promissed them something when he is Elected....Hope He Loses BIG. He is NOT what America and the Gay Community Need or Want. Come on guys let's change America!!!!!

4. Teacher
It is really sad to read the hate and fear expressed by those opposed to Barack Obama. Obama is a scholar who was a professor of constitutional law at the University of Chicago. He was an Illinois legislator and now an Illinois Senator. I suggest that people read The Audacity of Hope and find the truth about this man. God help us if he doesn't get the Dem. nomination and McCain wins. We are 10 Trillion Dollars in debt and will find no relief under another Republican administration. I strongly support Barack Obama. America needs to be proud again.

5. WHAT?
People keep giving Support to Obama and they don't seem to see that he is trying to "PASS" Now as being a Black American and he mentiones NOTHING aout Being Half WHITE. Being White is what has gotten him into ALL of the Opportunities in LIFE. He is trying to have the Black Vote and push his way into the Hearts of the Peole and I for One is NOT BUYING IT!! He needs to go be a Publeic Speaker and Earn his Fortune that way. We do NOT need Another BUSH there Making life harder on the Gay Communities and Preaching HIS ways to the Geral Public. We Need a LEADER...Like CLINTON who IS Everything.
