| Argentina Wins International Mr. Gay |
HOLLYWOOD, CA -- Mr. Gay Argentina, Carlos Fabian Melia, took home the title of International Mr. Gay 2008 at an event in Hollywood, Los Angeles, Sunday, which drew contestants from 21 countries. Melia, who is a 33 year old travel agent from Buenos Aires, was a last minute stand-in for the actual winner of the Mr. Gay Argentina pageant, Jorge Schmeda, who was disqualified when it was learned he had worked in the adult film industry. Melia came in ahead of Mr. Gay Venezuela, 33 year old Juan Bracho, and Mr. Gay UK, 25 year old Mark Edward Carter, who is a police officer. Mr. Gay Brazil, Luciano Lupo, won the title of Mr. Popular by getting the most votes online.
