You've been looking at a gay website; are YOU gay?
If you use your search engine to track down some transsexual websites you'll quickly learn that being gay and being transsexual are totally different propositions.
The idea that you 'caught' your boyfriend, as if he were doing something wrong, is rather disturbing because it suggests either that you were spying and confronted him, or that he behaved guiltily.
Trusting each other sufficiently to be up-front and talk about it openly can only be beneficial. Allowing each other a little privacy and independence within a relationship can also be healthy. While it can be scary and painful to confront issues of sexuality head-on it's always better to get clear before irrevocable steps (engagement, marriage, children?) have been taken.
