Researched For 4 Months To Insure The Best Vacation Possible In San Juan. I Read Many Reviews, Looked At Many Sites, Even Talked To A Gay Travel Agent. All Lead Me To "the Atlantic Beach Hotel".
Pretty Photos, Roperly Placed Words, And Reviews From Assumingly No To Hard To Please Clients Can Paint A Pretty Pitcure And An Image Much Different Than The Reality Of This Dump!
And I Do Have "my" Photos To Prove This Point!

After Making The Decision That Atlantic Beach Hotel *fact*... In Talking With Another Desk Person A Few Nights Into Our Stay It Was Revealed That Only 12 Or 13 Of Their 30 Some Rooms Were Booked. We Did Get The Ocean Front Room We Were Told We May Or May Not Get ..and Paid Dearly For It.
*fact*... Almost Double Of Other Gay Establishments Also With Beach Front Locations And For Lack Of Better Words. "nicer" Rooms And Owners Who Cared About Their Guests!
Another Of My Concerns Was The Fact That My Traveling Partner (handicapped) Was Having A Birthday (major Reason For The Vacation) On Our Second Night There. Knowing That They Had A Bar And Resturant I Asked The Possibility Of Getting A Cake As Part Of A Surprise. I Was Assured That They Could Take Care Of That And Was Even More Delighted When I Was Told That The Traditional Drag Show That Occurs Every Sunday Night Would Acknowledge My Friends Birthday Wiht A Small Tribute To Him With Song And Cake. Long Story Short..
*fact* ... They Told Me (after Arrival) Where I Could Go An Buy A Cake.and That I Could Talk To One Of The Bartenders And Try To Make Arrangements With Him To Talk To The Drag Queens To See If They Could Arrange This.
*fact*.... Of The Many Bartenders At This Gay Establishmetn. Only One Is Gay.
*fact*... The Owner Uses Straight Guys Because They Do Not Fratenize With The Customers, They Do Not Try To Pick Up Or Be Picked Up The Customres. The Do Not Care About The Customres And They Do Not "serve" The Customres As They Should Be Served.
*fact*... They Do Hustle The Customers They Know They Can Hustle And They Do Not Cater To The Customres That They Know Are Not Able To Hustle.
*fact*... We Sat Long Periods Between "watered Down Metered Five Dollar Drinks" Waiting For A Bartender Who Was Playing Cards With One Of His Money "buds"
*fact*... Of The 6 Or So Bartenders That Work There, Only One Had The Decency Or Professional Courtesy To Speak To Us Upon Seeing Us After Our First Visit There. He Did Appreciate Our Tips I Guess. He Was Pleasant And Nice

The One Gay Bartender Was A Snotty Little Queen Who After 3 Visits And Many Dollars In Tips "still" Did Not Recognize Us, Nor Did He Attend To Us With Any Friendly Or Professional Courtesies. He Did However Frequently Try To Push Another Drink Only For His Tip. The Is If He Was Not Busy With Some Of The Younger And More Availible Guests!
Ask Any Of The Local Gay Men ( Who By The Way Are Some Of The Most Friendly Guys In The World)

*fact*.. Property Next Door Was Bought By Gay Man Trying To Establish Another Gay Hot Spot.
*fact*.. Owners Have Not Only Banned This Person From Their Property But Have Also Done All They Can To The Point Of Perhaps Paying To Stop Progress. Curtailing The New Owner From Getting Permits, Liscenses And Moving Foreward For A Year And Half.
*fact*.. We Saw The Owner Coming And Going On Several Occasions. Several Times Out Front "entertaing And Mingling" With Some Of The Younger And I Do Mean Younger Local "talent" It's Not Nice To Say Hustlers!...
*fact*.. The Owners "never" Spoke To Us. Never Acknowledged Us As Paying Guests. Not Even As Humans Who Should At Least Be Given A Not Or A Hello.. Let Alone To Ask If We Were Happy, Content, If We Needed Anything, How Our Stay Was.... "nothing" Total Avoidance And Ignorance.

*fact*.. They Do Have A Resturant. Open At Will. Never On Wednesday. Very Over Priced And Little To Choose From. Never For Dinner.
The Lady Who Takes Orders, Cooks The Orders, And Serves The Orders Was Pleasant.

*fact*.. They Offer Iron And Iron Board. Iron Rusted And Chined To The Wall. Ironing Board. Falls Out Of The Wall Unit Upon Opening. Cover Is Torn To Shreads And Rusted To The Point Of Falling Apart.
