Hey, I live in Canada, and I am in a conflict with my teacher about the project of gay marriages. These days, gay people tend to be marginalized by straight ppl, but I agree with gay marriages because there are some points.

First of all, every person has a human right, rite? So, why do people are just keep criticizing about gay marriages, whereas in fact every single person has the right to marry someone. Then if they love each other, why don't they? The last point is, that (my religion) Christian doesnt say that gay is all wrong (I think) because I read some passages in my research. And if gay is such a sin, why does it never obviously mentioned??? But I cant tell about Adam and Eve. Because generally human-beings were created to love for their opposing sex. And if it is probihited, why are there churches in Canada which accept gay people???

Please, everyone, help me to resolve this conflict, because I want to know which one is the most accurate truth...

Getting married is not a right that everyone is entitled to. There a lots of restrictions on it. You can't marry your close relative, you can't marry someone underage.....get the point?

Every driver's manual issued by DMVS's throughout the country say that getting a driver's licence is not a right either. It is a privilege...Get the point ?
Just because the majority makes the rules, it doesn' necessarily mean that they are right...

Good Heavens! It saddens me that people in this world, as well as Government bodies, can discriminate against others (especially gays) publicly and still have a conscience. Should anyone be allowed to pass laws prohibiting African Americans to marry? ...how about prohibiting the Handicapped to marry? ...or preventing Women from Voting? ...permitting slavery? NO!
Geez, I thought this was a so-called "FREE" country?
The only solution is to prevent hatred. If God is the creator of all, why would God want his children to hate? If gays love one another and wish to marry - there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. (How does that hurt anyone else?) I think many of these holy rollers are nothing but hypocrates - but being a Christian - I still love them for who they are, not for how they continue to hurt others.

Disappointed,
Rick

Well, if you really think that everyone should be allowed to marry, then I'm sure you're all for lifting the age limit on marriage, as well as allowing any kind of close relative to marry each other. Not as simple as you thought, huh? Marriage is not a right open to all and never has been. It's just childish carping to think that gays are being deprived of some basic civil right open to all. And the hiding behind the the catch-all term "hate" just doesn't cut it anymore, that is one tired cliche that needs to be put to rest.
