I went to Mykonos a few years ago together with a couple of friends. I was a bit shy at the time, but fortunately my friends were not:) We arrived in Athens by air and had to travel by boat from Pireus (close to Athens) to Mykonos. The trip took about 8 hours and even though it was a bit boring, it was interesting to see all the people that were going to the same place we were going.

When we arrived Mykonos at night, a car was already waiting to take us to our hotel. We stayed at a guesthouse a few miles outside the main tourist areas because we wanted to save a few bucks. It was well worth it though because there was a bus going downtown, and the taxi home was really cheap.

It turned out that we were actually living in walking distance from the famous Super Paradise Beach (with all the naked guys). We walked over there every day, and on the way back home, one of my friends always 'got lost'. There are some really HEAVY cruising going on all over Mykonos:)

At night we went downtown. The bars are terrific, but the action didn't really happen until the bars closed. Then there were cruising in the narrow streets all over the town. Every little secluded spot seemed to be occupied:)

Mykonos is a place you should go with your friends when you are free and single. It's a beautiful place, but I think I would have chosen another islands if I had a partner.
