I'm in a total state of disbelief that Firemen in the City of San Diego have become anachronisms in there own time.
The fact of the matter is that I have an inordinate amount of respect for members of the firefighting profession which only compounds my state of very serious disbelief. How is it even possible that men, let alone firemen, living in a city comprised of such a diverse population be so biased, indeed sexist/homophobic, in their thinking?
The fact that the Fire Chief, herself a lesbian, had so little self-esteem that she felt compelled to apologize to these Neanderthals makes my blood boil. If the city settles a law-suit with tax payer money then I think that the entire gay/lesbian tax-paying population ought to revolt and tell the city to take whatever monies are awarded out of the pockets of only those suffering terminal, internalized homophobia. I certainly don't want any of my hard-earned money paying off these blokes.
