Anti-gay or Pro-marriage?

Do you think America's opposition to gay marriage is Anti-gay or Pro-marriage? In other words, do you think most people that opposes gay marriage in America are most concerned about protecting marriage, or are they just using this as an excuse to prevent visibility and equal rights for gays?

I don't think most Americans are necesarily ant-gay. However, I don't think they are ready for same-sex couples to tie the knot. I think we have pushed the issue too much. Given time, I do believe, it will happen. But, not right now. I do believe, they will allow civil unions. Just don't touch "their marriage."
Maybe we should discuss this with some of the married men that cheat inside the chatrooms? Hypocrites ? I think so.
