I Usually Never Comment On How Or When To Tell Family Or Friends That You Are Gay...but Chances Are, That If You Are In The Military, At One Time Or Another You Will Be Shipped To A Place Like Iraq Or Afghanistan....so I Have To Say That If You Are Going To Be Put In Harms Way To Protect The Freedoms That Many Americans Take For Granted, You Shouldn't Have To Worry About Telling Your Parents....tell Them They Have 2 Choices, Either Accept You Or Lose You...harsh ? Telling your parents you are gay is never easy. However i tend to agree with Tony infact that is exactly how i did it. I was in the Army when i was caught in the act by my father who is also a veteran.

well it's hard because of socity. but if ur parents love u it won't matter. tell ur mom first. she'll either cry or she'll tell u she knew all the time. then tell ur dad. if he's a hard ass, you wont be able to make him like ur being gay. but he raised u to stand on ur feet, proud of who u are. remind him he, u gave you the strangth to come out in the first place. play it cool with ur dad. he'll b mad but ur still his son.
or u can do like in that movie Steel Magonilas, one chacter was gay but not out, (and man was he hot!!). at the end of the movie he's walking thru the room. tell his parents he has cancer and a few months to live, then adds ....oh by the way i'm gay. and he walks out of the room. loved how he (the writers) did that. first their losing there son, then relief, he 's just gay.
