Even though I am very happy with my BF, I believe some lines shouldnīt be crossed, and marriage is one of them. God created Adam and Eve and I believe thatīs the line he wanted us to follow, however, if thatīs not how it turned for some of us, then, well, what can we do? And besides, if we live happily, what else do we need?

Have we in the gay community been to forward in pushing gay marriage rights?
The gay community, particularly the most liberal within the gay community, has made it possible for those men and women to live better and improved lives whether they're military personnel, political leaders, educators, locale citicizens growing and maturing in secondary schools. The gay community has a responsibility to project an agenda toward equality regardless of the DOMA movment; we must contravene such movements. Textual renderings of biblical literature mandated relationships of love, of life, and dignity, but seldom are such virtues practised by heterosexuals who walk that slippery slope of hetero/homosexual/bisexual-the lesson is that human beings are demonstrated sexualities, that the human condition was not limited to one sancrosanct, monolithic sexuality that suggests an ultimate being created men and women for only procreation: Have we a jealous god? Or a God who sanctions abuse and rape toward homosexuals because of their identity and personality? If you read your Christian text, those statements in the Hebrew Bible do not mandate sexuality, nor do they mandate marriage. But they do mandate a host of graces such as love, not hate; redemption, not judgement; salvation, not condemnation; grace, not law: and in a country ruled by law, and a divided government, wherein might any notion of theological grace occur?!
If the majority of gay men and women surrender something a small, and yet, as powerful as a vote, then you reify heterosexuality. Homosexuals, then, will not long find themselves with the English poets reciting poetry from prison cells, carving their names on the walls, before our McCarthy-like government arrests each of us and casts us without name and identity into prison cells. My only prayer is that they find us before we die in those cells less they wait eight or nine months to discover someone else dead in a cell.
Protest! Dissent! and Cast your Vote!

Hi
Civil union is not gay marriage. De facto heterosexual couples who choose to take advantage of the benefits offered by registering a civil union are still free to marry should they choose. Gay people are denied that right: this is not equality.
God has nothing to do with marriage. Whatever they may believe, a man and woman are not actually married until the marriage license has been signed and witnessed. This legal requirement, which validates the marriage, will not be found in the Bible; it is a man-made law.
Whether they consider marrying or not (and given the hash heterosexuals have made of marriage you have to wonder why anyone would ever want to) gaymen would be wise to passionately pursue and consolidate every opportunity for equality with mainstream society. Societies tend to be conservative: frightened of change, slow to accept it and staunch in opposition to further change. One of the main arguments used to oppose change is, "But this is the way it's always been!" It is incumbent upon us therefore, during more liberal times, to strive for as many rights and freedoms as we can in order to familiarise wider society with an increased range of possibilities and to ease the way for those gay people who come after us. Remember the lessons of history; rights are readily swept aside by authoritarian regimes.

I hope that all of you people in America keeps figting for gay rights, we are many in "old" Europe that supports you. All human rights should be equal, no matter if you love a woman or a man.

The bible is overated. The bible, despite the majority opinion is not the source of our political upholdings and legislative processes or even how we vote. There was a study/poll done by a christian who found that something like80 percent of americans couldn't name 5 of the 10 commandments!! So therefore, i don't even listen anymore to politicians who say that the bible is the reason for their beliefs and morals. Morality and convictions come from other sources than the bible, the bible can emphasize them however.
Sex, for men (politicans) is related to power. Women view sexuality as a much softer issue and there is not much of a power link to it. In essence, men use sex to control women so therefore homosexuality is viewed as a threat to conservative politicans. All the propaganda that says homosexuals live shorter lifespans, etc. is nothing but lies and these studies are not done with truth. I even found that most of these statements are not backed up by statistics or polls.
In the future, homosexuals will get all the rights that they deserve. So therefore, the homosexual movement has not at all been too straight forward. Keep up the good work, and keep fighting the "good fight!"

I do believe in gay marriages but I just don't see a gay couple getting married in a church. However, I do see them getting married in front of the justice of peace.
I think Bush has no say so in who can marry who. Who the hell made him GOD? No body!!! He just doing it so he can pull more people towards him but it's not working. Since Bush got his way and Gay marriages are illegal......did you know that straight couple have lost their benefits with their spouses? That's one thing he didn't want Americans to know!!!!! I don't see why marriage to my bf would matter to him anyway, I'm not bothering him or any other straight couples at that!!!!!
If I could tell Bush off I would!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HATE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!

Hate is a very strong word. Particulariy when used toward someone you really do not know(Bush). Why focus on him alone. In recent elections in
Missouri and 11 other states the voters overwhelmingly voted to NOT
ALLOW GAY MARRIAGE. Almost 75% of the voters said NO to gay marriage.
Do you hate them all?
I fail to understand why 'Gays' want to get married. Is it just an 'in your face'
sort of thing. Think up another name for marriage and go for it. Marriage was,
is, and will always be between a man and a woman.
