3 Fun Ways to Health & Fitness By
Stian Nilsen
Everyday Well-being
What you do every day is the most important factor for staying healthy and feeling well. Stay active for at least 30 minutes every day. Eat healthy foods for meals and snacks, and don't forget to drink plenty of water.
Everyday eating
-Try to eat 5-7 servings of fruit and vegetable a day
-Eat 3-6 servings of carbohydrate foods like bread, cereal, pasta, or rice
-About 3 servings of low fat dairy foods + 1 serve of lean meats
Everyday activity
-Enjoy easy indoor activities like dancing and stair climbing, and outdoor activities like hiking or
rollerblading
-Bring a drink bottle of water for before, during and after activity
Seek Variety
Make sure to try out new foods regularly. This will bring more variety and essential nutrients to your diet. Encourage yourself to try new activities that will bring new additions to your arsenal of skills. This will increase your confidence level, and make you feel good about yourself.
Try new foods
-Explore exotic stores, and even unfamiliar aisles of your favorite grocery store
-Learn to cook new foods and recipes, and have fun doing so
-Have a variety of healthy, tasty food choices for meals and snacks
Try new activities
-Get a tourist brochure for your own town/city. You'll be amazed by all the activities available in your own neighborhood that you didn't know about or that you had forgotten
existed long time ago
-Seek new skills - look out for new sports and activities to try. Start with something you may like to do and build from there
Treat Yourself
For optimal health and fitness, you need a balance of occasional and everyday things. Treats are OK occasionally when part of a balanced diet full of everyday foods. On a regular basis (2-3 times a week), you need to do more hi-impact activities and work up a real sweat.
Snacking and treats
-Eat healthy, nutritious snacks between meals: cereal bars, low fat yogurt, fruit
-Treats occasionally - "unhealthy" foods are OK once in a while and add to food enjoyment
Energetic activities
-Find activities you enjoy to work up a sweat
-Always create a winning feeling - whether you win or not
