Body warning signs By
Stian Nilsen
Your body is your best friend and you should listen to the signals it's giving to you. Often your body will give you an early warning that something is wrong so that you can contact a doctor before it gets really bad. Here are some signs to look out for;
Economy Class Syndrome
According to researchers, the so called economy-class syndrome results from the cramped conditions and enforced immobility that people endure in airline seats. As blood pools in the legs, clots my form. Should one of these swim to prime body real estate-like the lungs-the red-eye flight could become a short hop to the hospital. According to Doctor Franklin Colon, who did pioneering work on deep-vein trhombosis (DVT), recommends being alert for tenderness, swelling, or redness in your legs on any long trip. He suggests taking an aspirin before boarding, staying hydrated by hitting the water bottle, and keeping in motion. "Stretch your legs as best you can, even if it's just walking the aisle or tensing and then relaxing your calf muscles," says Dr. Colon.
Vomiting Blood
It is very tricky to diagnose vomiting blood. "Circumstances are critical to an accurate diagnosis, but bleeding internally-and that's what you are doing-is always a big thing." If you are vomiting blood , that might indicate severe gastritis, a duodenal ulcer, or even and esophageal tear." Your doctor will use a flexible camera (open wide), or he will mix up a barium cocktail(step up to the x-ray and it's show time!_ to seek the leak. Repair might then go the medicianl route with antiulcer drugs, or use a heat probe to cauterize the drip, plumber style.
Blood in Your Ejaculate
Hematospermia or blood in your ejaculate is more common that you would guess. If you are under the age of 40, odds are you've traumatized yourself with too much bike riding or an STD. Antibiotics will be your get-out-of-Weirdsville-free card. If you are closer to 50, get checked to rule out prostate cancer.
Blood in Your Stool
As a diagnostic tool, stools rule. First question from your doctor: What color is your poop? "Bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract can cause blood in your stool." Dark stools mean dried blood from a stomach ulcer; a richer burgundy means you have sprung a leak farther down the pike (intestinal inflammations like colitis); bright red might signal something rectal-anything from a hemorrhoid alert and a cancer warning announce themselves with precisely the same colors. Consider any bloody out-of booty experience a wake-up call.
Bloody Nipples
Any sensitive skin area that comes into repeated contact with a rougher surface-like a T-shirt-can be subject to fabric irritation, redness, or even bleeding. The condition is called jogger's nipples because it's common among runners. Before lacing up, apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to the affected area. Or run in a silk camisole. Interestingly, the same jogging motion can bounce your bladder, causing blood to leak into your urine in a condition dubbed "jogger's bladder."
