Dear Max
 By Max  Salazar

I have met a guy and we are together and I find out he is married to a guy. They were married in Vermont and still are legally married there. But we are planning to be married and just before he got here he tells me he was married there. What can I do here about them getting out of it ? very confused

The rule is that if you are already married, you cannot marry again. You have to be divorced or legally separated.  If somebody marries someone who is legally married, the marriage does not really count as the first marriage is still valid.  The best thing for you is to have him go where he got married and have him file for divorce. Once he shows you he is divorced, you can start planning your wedding.   Good luck!
