I engaged in unprotected anal sex with a male partner that might be a carrier of HIV or other diseases (I have no information, but I'm concerned since he is very sexually active, and had engaged in unprotected sex before). I was the penetrator (active) in the intercourse. I don't have visible cuts on my penis and the intercourse was not exceptionally “rough” or “violent”. I would like to have some kind of assessment to the risk I have of contracting HIV (assuming he is a carrier – the chances for that, no one knows). Is there some kind of numerical estimate you can give, to have me understand where am I standing ? Also – what is the earliest time you suggest for me to have a test (when might it first be indicated) and when is the latest time I should get tested, in order to be sure I wasn't affected? Is prevention treatment something you would suggest for me to consider ? If so, how is that done, and what is it's efficiency? Please try and give me a realistic estimate, and not a general statement about the mistake I have made which I will never repeat. Still there is some importance in having me understand my situation. You are not the only one. Unfortunately, a lot of people are having unprotected sex and they don't really think about the risk until is too late.  Having unprotected sex is like playing Russian Roulette, you will never know.
