Gay & Lesbian Travel: New York's Heritage of Pride

Fifth Avenue was alive with color and excitement as hundreds of thousands turned out for the 38th annual New York Heritage of Pride Parade Sunday June 24th, 2007.

Organizers say more than half a million people marched and another half million had gathered to watch. This year's theme was "United for Equality." The parade included a moment of silence for those who have died from AIDS.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg participated in the parade and Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum and Bishop Troy Perry were this year's grand marshals.
