Sun and Beautiful
Beaches By

Fort Lauderdale has one of the fastest growing gay population in the US and is becoming a center for gay life in the southern region of the country. The Wilton Manors and Victoria Park areas are comparable to San Francisco's Castro or New York's Chelsea and same-sex couples walking hand in hand on the street is a common sight.
With two beautiful long sandy gay beaches and another nude gay beach nearby, Fort Lauderdale appeals to gay sun seekers from all over the world. Whether you want to show off your body or admire others, these three gay beaches are probably the places your going to spend most of your days on your vacation:
1) Sebastian Street and A1A. Close to all the guest houses & shopping centers.
2) The dunes opposite N.E. 18th Street. Between Oakland Park Blvd. and Sunrise Blvd. The beach is nice for people who just want to relax and have a romantic stroll along it.
3) Haulover (nude) Beach. Four miles south of Hallendale, just north of Bal Harbor. The gay section of the beach is at the extreme northern end.
When it comes to places to stay, Ft. Lauderdale has a number of good gay hotels and resorts. Make sure to call ahead to make reservations as some places are fully booked early, especially in the high season from February to April.
Fort Lauderdale's nightlife is amazing. Several gay bars offer happy hour or $1 drinks and no cover until midnight. Not only are the drinks great (and strong!), but there are also several gay bars like the Alibi, Coliseum, Copa and others that are both elegant and upscale. Of course, Fort Lauderdale has plenty of trashy places to offer too so remember, play it safe.....
Fort Lauderdale has everything most of us really want from a gay beach resort: Sun, beautiful beaches, drink specials and lots of good looking men. In other words, plenty of reasons for a
visit!
