Lance Bass Married Girlfriend in Vegas

Former boy-bander Lance Bass tells in an interview that he once married a girlfriend in Las Vegas. The openly gay singer said it was all just for fun and that they only did it to get free drinks.

"People do stupid things in the heat of the moment," the 28-year-old singer told E! News. "I've been in Vegas where I've gotten married for like five minutes, but no one talks about it, though."

Bass says the bride was just a friend and that the marriage took place in "1999 or 2000."

"In fact, the only reason we did it is because we wanted to get free drinks all night … and we didn't get one," he says. "We're like, 'we just got married,' and they're like, 'ah, whatever.'"

Lance Bass, who came out of the closet in an interview with People magazine in July 2006, is currently promoting his new memoir, "Out of Sync."
