Clay Aiken Comes to Broadway
NEW YORK CITY, NY -- Former American Idol finalist and
pop star Clay Aiken is set to make his Broadway debut this January in the
musical "Spamalot," based on the hilarious film comedy Monty Python and
the Holy Grail, where he will play the role of Sir Robin.
The role was originated by David Hyde Pearce, but now Aiken is stepping in
to play the cowardly knight until May 4th.

Director Mike Nichols says, "Clay Aiken is amazing beyond that glorious
voice. Turns out he is an excellent comic actor and a master of character.
People will be surprised by his wide ranging talent, since the first
impression is of great country charm and a singer to remember. This guy is
not only a star, he is a lot more. We are lucky to get him for Spamalot."
No word yet on how the Central Christian Church of Wichita is taking this
news. Appearing on Broadway is hardly going to "butch" up Aiken's image
among the ultra-religious wackos who were attacking the church last week
for setting up a concert with the pop star due to questions around his
sexual orientation.
Side note: These are some of the "controversial" pictures, claimed to
have been sent from Aiken to another guy he chatted with online.
