Jennifer Hudson on Sex and the City
American Idol star Jennifer Hudson, who won
the Oscar for her role in Dreamgirls, has joined the cast of
Sex and the City: The Movie which begins shooting September 19th in
New York City.
Hudson will play the assistant of Sarah Jessica Parker's character
Carrie Bradshaw. In addition to Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and
Cynthia Nixon will all be back in the new movie.
Rumors surfaced earlier this year that Hudson had turned down a $3
million offer to appear in the movie due to a reported nude scene and
its unclear if she now will appear fully clothed in the movie.
Sex and the City: The Movie revolves around the lives of the four main
"Sex and the City" characters, four years after the finale of the HBO
series, which ended after its six-year run in 2004.
Michael Patrick King, Sex and the City' longtime creative leader and
executive producer, will write and direct the movie. |
