Cross-Dresser Murdered in Florida
DAYTONA BEACH, FL -- Oscar Mosqueda, 34, was
shot after he allegedly made a physical advance on another man in a
Daytona, Florida, restaurant. Mosqueda was wearing a miniskirt and high
heels when he was killed, authorities said
Cesar Israel Villazano, 18, of DeLand, Florida, shot Mosqueda in the
head following an argument at the restaurant. Villazano fled the crime
scene but was apprehended by police later the same day and charged with
second-degree murder.
A
man with Villazano, Luis Acosta, 21, also of DeLand, was charged with
possession of cocaine. Both were taken to the Volusia County Branch
Jail, where Villazano is being held without bail.
According to Villazano, Mosqueda made a physical advance on him.
Villazano said he was embarrassed by the advance because he isn't gay.
Shortly afterward, the two men went outside. Villazano got into Acosta's
car, and then started arguing with Mosqueda and another man, Acosta told
police.
Then Villazano fired a handgun twice into the air and once at Mosqueda,
Acosta told police. After the shot was fired, a bartender from the Holly
Hill Eagles club next door called 911.
Mosqueda was transported to Halifax Medical Center, where he died about
noon Sunday, Daytona Beach police said. |
