"Will & Grace" Creators Get Millions
"Will & Grace" creators Max Mutchnick and
David Kohan reportedly received a huge paycheck from NBC, after
the TV channel chose to settle a gigantic lawsuit the two had filed
against them.
In the suit, Mutchnick and Kohan claim NBC cheated them from a fortune in
profits by applying creative bookkeeping tactics that made it look like
the show brought in less revenue than it actually did.
After a three-month trial, the jury granted Mutchnick and Kohan $48.5
million plus an untold amount in punitive damages, TMZ reports.
However, just before the verdict was read, NBC lawyers stood up and said
they discovered that the jury foreman had a website which revealed he
hated big corporations.
The judge kicked the foreman off the jury and ordered jurors to
deliberate all over again with an alternate juror.
Apparently though, NBC lawyers and executives still did not like their
odds of winning and they chose to settle the suit. Sources say,
Mutchnick and Kohan got "a s**tload" of money."
