Boy George Arrested for SM Assault
LONDON, UK -- British pop star Boy George's
trouble with the law continues and this time it's getting even more
twisted than usual. Boy George, who's real name is George O'Dowd, was
arrested by London police Sunday on suspicion of assault and false
imprisonment.
Norwegian escort Auden Carlsen, 28, claims he met the former Culture
Club singer online on Gaydar, a popular British dating site, and that he
agreed to meet with Boy George at his apartment Saturday night. Carlsen
claims he only agreed to go to George's flat at midnight as a £400
[$750] photographic model and not as an escort.
When Carlsen arrived at the apartment, he claims he was attacked by
George and another man who chained him by a hook to a bed, took photos
of him in "kinky gear", and threatened him with whips and sex toys.
"Its ironic that his biggest hit was Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?
because Im sure he did want to hurt me. I was convinced I was going to
die...George said he was popping out for milk at 5am. I heard him come
back and I walked into his bedroom wearing just my white underpants and
a T-shirt. I was jumped on by George and another man. George handcuffed
me to a hook by the bed as they held me down," Carlsen told British
tabloid The Sun.
Carlsen escaped by ripping the hook he was chained to from the wall, and
fled the apartment to a nearby newsstand where he called the police.
Boy George has told his brother Kevin O'Dowd he finds the allegations
"hilarious" and is not concerned by them.
Kevin said: "George isn't at all annoyed at the allegations, in fact, he
thinks it's hilarious.
"Yeah, he was arrested, but the police are always going to follow it up
when someone makes a complaint like that."
UK police do not release names of people under investigation and police
would only reveal that, "We investigated reports of an alleged forced
imprisonment and common assault made by a 28-year-old man. A man in his
40s was arrested in connection with the investigation."
Boy George was released on bail while the investigation continues.
