Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi in Car
Accident
LOS ANGELES, LA -- Ellen DeGeneres and her lover Portia
de Rossi narrowly escaped serious injury in a car crash in Los Angeles
on Friday afternoon.
The couple sustained some neck and back injuries when their car was hit
by another car in a traffic light on Sunset Boulevard.
The driver of the other car, who escaped with minor cuts to her leg, was
later arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
Meanwhile, Ellen is about to kick off the fourth season of her talk show
"The Ellen DeGeneres Show." In an interview with AP, Ellen reveals that
they are changing the format of the show by putting less emphasize on
celebrities and "more on human interest and real people and things like
that."
She also reveals that being on a daily talk show is hard and takes a lot
of work: "It's just the hardest thing I've ever done and it's the best
thing that I've ever done. I love this job. I love coming here every
day. The whole show is me so I make every decision. It's just constant
decisions, constant writing the monologue every day and working on
what's going to make it special every single day.
"Then it's time to do the show itself and I have to be completely
present and completely on my toes to be impulsive and spontaneous. It's
just a lot of energy. I get home at the end of the day and I don't want
to talk. All I want to do is lie on the floor and pet my dogs and my
cats."
