SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- Governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger has revealed plans to participate in a fundraiser for the
gay Republican group Log Cabin Republicans in Hollywood next week.
According to the organizers of the event this would be the first time
Schwarzenegger appear in front of a gay audience since he took office.
The governor has been unpopular among gay rights groups since he vetoed a
gay marriage bill in September.
But even though the Log Cabin Republicans has stated that they no longer
support President Bush since the president endorsed a federal ban on gay
marriage ban, they still support Governor Schwarzenegger.
The Log Cabin Republicans' president, Patrick Guerrero, says
Schwarzenegger's appearance at the 250-dollar-a-plate fundraiser is a way
for him to return Log Cabin's loyalty. He also says the issue of gay
marriage likely will come up at the event.
