Other Attacks On Gay Bars Planned?
New Bedford, MA -- Police suspects that Jacob Robida,
the teenager who attacked several people in a New Bedford gay bar, may
have been member of a white supremacist group. During a police chase
following the attack, the teen shot a police officer and a woman before
killing himself.
Investigators are now putting together a picture of Robida's movements
after the rampage at Puzzles bar in New Bedford where he attacked several
people with a hatchet and a gun.
After leaving the bar Robida went straight to his mother's home to pick up
her car and then headed south. Police does not believe Robida was driving
at random and are now trying to find out exactly what made Robida travel
from Massachusetts to Arkansas, a police source told the Associated Press.
"He was driving like he knew where he was going," the source said.
The rural northern Arkansas area is home to at least two white supremacist
groups police say. Investigators are questioning members of those groups
to seek if there was a connection to Robida.
If he were a member of one of the groups police want to know if other
attacks on gays are planned.
