Scouts Ask President Bush to Step Down
WASHINGTON (U.S. Newswire) -- Steven Cozza, Eagle
Scout, as a 12 year Life Scout, inspired the Scouting for All movement
through his stand against the discrimination of the Boy Scouts of America,
now as a 20 year old will be leading a contingent of Scouting for All
supporters to Washington D. C. to ask President Bush to step down as the
Honorary President of the Boy Scouts of America. Steven says, "If
President Bush truly believes "no child left behind" then he should not
represent or endorse in anyway an organization that leaves gay and atheist
youth behind by excluding them, the Boy Scouts of America."
Steven asks, should President Bush support an organization that:
-- Discriminates against both Homosexual and Atheist Americans.
-- Discriminates against gay and atheist youth and gay and atheist
parents.
-- Is under investigation by the FBI for fraud, inflating membership
numbers to increase funding.
-- Who has a national executive arrested for receiving and distributing
child pornography.
-- Who may be using its Learning for Life program to secure funding denied
to its traditional scouting program. There should also be an investigation
into this.
-- Who allows some of its Scout Councils to mislead funding sources such
as the United Way by telling them they don't discriminate and in turn
adhere to the BSA's national mandated policy of discrimination against gay
and atheist youth and adults.
-- Gives the youth under its charge, scouts the message that
discrimination is ok in some cases, that gay and atheist people are
morally inferior and not good citizens.
-- Gives the youth under its charge, who have homosexual and or atheist
parents the message that their parents don't have family values and are
morally inferior to heterosexual Christian parents.
