
MR. GAY 2006 Global Contestant
PALM SPRINGS (U.S. Newswire) -- Anticipation is
building in the search for Mr. Gay 2006, happening October 7-9, 2005
(Columbus Day weekend) at the Riviera Resort in Palm Springs, California
and broadcast LIVE exclusively on the all gay Q Television Network.
Local
winners are currently being selected in cities around the country. Each
local "Mr. Gay" winner will then advance to the US finals in Palm Springs
and vie for the national title of "Mr. Gay USA." During the same Grand
Finale stage show, the newly-crowned "Mr. Gay USA" will compete against
finalists from all over the world for the global title of "Mr. Gay
International."
Blair Shepard has been chosen as "Mr. Gay San Francisco." Upcoming local
contests include: Oklahoma City (Aug. 21); New York (Sept. 19); and Los
Angeles (Sept. 25), Ft. Lauderdale (TBD)
and San Diego (TBD). Participating countries sending their representatives
include: Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Lapland, Latvia, The
Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and more.
Discounted room rates are available through September 15th at the Palm
Springs Riviera Resort, the pageant's official host hotel. Call

"Competition" for a special rate of $129 per night (double occupancy, two
night minimum) AND be assigned to the area of the Resort reserved
exclusively for pageant
participants and attendees. Rooms reserved after that date will be at
regular prices.
Producer Dirk Shafer ("Playmate of the Year" and "Circuit") and Palm
Springs Mayor Ron Oden have just been added to the distinguished panel of
judges for the Grand Finale. They join Joseph Rachert, Marketing Director
for Interactive Male; Alan Brown, President of Electric Dreams Foundation;
and J.R. Pratts, Publisher of Instinct Magazine.
