
March For Marriage Equality

-- This week, as Massachusetts celebrates its first anniversary as the first state to legalize same-sex marriage, thousands of people will cross the Brooklyn Bridge in a massive Wedding March demanding equal marriage rights for same-sex couples in New York State’s biggest pro-marriage rally of the year. The LGBT community will be out in force with allies, supportive politicians, religious groups, and businesses all calling for legislation to ensure civil marriage equality for gays and lesbians.
Without marriage, committed same-sex couples are denied over 1,138 federal rights and protections, including social security, hospital visitation, co-parenting rights, estate tax, and immigration. Last year, over 3,000 people crossed the bridge in the first Wedding March, making it the largest pro-marriage rally in New York State history. This year’s March promises to be even bigger. Go to the
