Gay & Lesbian Movies: East Side Story
In this romantic comedy, Diego, a handsome young Latino, helps his
grandmother run the family restaurant while trying to turn his
clandestine sexual relationship with hunky but closeted Pablo into
a full-fledged romance.
Diego has long felt trapped by the conservative culture of East
Los Angeles and plans to move away and open a chic Mexican
restaurant in Arizona, hopefully with his lover. But Pablo views
their situation very differently.
Enter Jonathan and Wesley, part of a wave of gay men moving into
East LA, sparking cultural conflicts as they gentrify the
neighborhood and attempt an uneasy peace with their new neighbors.
The attraction between Wesley and Diego is immediate and electric,
forcing both men to re-examine their state of affairs in this
entertaining comedic drama.
