Legally Blonde Goes Legit with Stage Musical
Hollywood's
invasion of Broadway continues, with more movies getting turned into
stage musicals.
Following in the footsteps of The Producers, Hairspray,
and the upcoming Sister Act will be Legally Blonde, the
hilarious story of a California sorority girl who conquers Harvard Law
School without abandoning her sense of style.
Based on the hit comedy from out director Robert Luketic, the
stage version will star Laura Bell Bundy - no stranger to campy
musicals, with a resume that includes Hairspray, Wicked,
and Ruthless! - as Elle Woods and Tony winner Michael Rupert
(Sweet Charity, Falsettos) as her law professor.
Legally Blonde will deliver opening arguments in San Francisco on
Jan. 23, and then appear before the Broadway jury on April 3.
